The Best Location For Your Portrait Session in Clark County, WA

Spring is in the air and it feels so good. The daffodils are blooming and the days are getting longer.

Chances are you've booked your portrait session for the spring or summer.

One question that is probably on your mind is location. What is the best location for your photoshoot?

Here in Clark County, WA there is no shortage of great locations from urban, to small town, to lush forests. The sky's the limit.

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING THE BEST LOCATION FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION.

  1. What does your senior or children like to do for fun? How do they like to spend their time? Make sure you’re choosing a location that best suits their personality. For example, if they’re the outdoorsy type then a woodsy location would be best.

  2. Consider the ages of your children. If your kids are super young an urban location may not be a great choice because you don't want to have to worry about cars and other distractions. Perhaps an open field or park may be better.

  3. Take into account the season your session is scheduled for. For example, there are some gorgeous parks in the fall that really show the beautiful Pacific Northwest autumn colors. If it’s going to be warm on your session date, going to the river and getting their feet wet might be fun and make for some awesome photos!

  4. And then there’s traffic. Clark County and Southwest Washington are gorgeous, but the traffic, well it sucks at times. If you're coming up from Oregon consider the time of day and the traffic going north. Many people from Vancouver work in Oregon and commute home in the evening. If you have an evening portrait session and google says 30 minutes you might want to plan for 45 or so.
